iBaby Care M7 Review – The Swiss Army Knife of Baby Monitors

The iBaby Care M7 is the total baby care system with incredible features that promote health, safety and early development.

This product cannot just be called a monitor – the product also acts as a sound and light soother, an air quality sensor, a story time reader, a feeding alert system, and a smartphone location device all in one cohesive unit.

THE VERDICT
The iBaby Care M7 is a premium monitor with a premium price. It is the most feature rich monitor on the market to date. While the features are great in their own right - the extra benefit of great development support for your child in conjunction with these features is a huge plus and should definitely play a role in your consideration of the product. Additionally, you will probably be able to go without having to purchase other products such as a night light or sound machine. Overall the monitor is a solid product which justifies the price tag if you take advantage of all its features but only if you’re comfortable using a smartphone and have a decent/reliable Wi Fi connection in your home.

How It Works

How does this multi-functional monitor work? Well see the video below:

The Nuts...

The iBaby Care M7 is a baby centric Wi Fi unit which provides more features than any of its competitors to date. While more than just a monitor, the camera and visual quality of the product is solid with a 1080p high-definition camera which captures video in both light and dark conditions (supported by infrared night vision and the automatic switching into night mode when the light is too dim in your little one’s room) combined with audio that is crisp and clear, as is the speaker, when you use the two-way talk function. As a baby monitor at least the product is a success.

The camera has a digital zoom which allows parents to view whether their little one is sleeping or awake and additionally this is supported by a pan and tilt capability – the camera can rotate by a full 360 degrees and can tilt up or down across a 140-degree range. A downside to the monitor’s operations is that while the sound is bright and clear, it lacks a good range of tones.

The unit is controlled via a smartphone application – if you are used to using smartphone apps the interface is pretty intuitive. Range of connectivity indoors is as good as your Wi Fi connection in the home – something to keep in mind if you have a poor indoor connection.

The iBaby Care M7 sends an alert to your phone if it detects sound or movement in your baby’s room. Unlimited users can have access to the monitor through the app and, because the signal streams through the internet, remote viewing from anywhere is available.

...and Bolts

In addition to the normal capabilities of a monitor, the iBaby comes with prerecorded lullabies, a white noise sound setting, and stories which it can “read” aloud to your child. While it comes pre-loaded with lullabies and stories, you can connect the app to your own music library if you want more options.

A built-in Moonlight Soother, projects images of the moon and stars onto the wall or ceiling close by to aid in soothing your baby. It serves as a soft glowing night light for you baby that can help to calm them.

Smart sensors on the iBaby enable the product to measure the air quality, temperature and humidity of the room where your baby is situated. The app will alert you immediately if it detects volatile organic compounds in the air near your baby – providing you with all the details of their environment to be able to ensure their safety and comfort.

The built-in features act as an early childhood development aid, improving listening, vision, speaking, movement, and breathing.

Diaper and feeding alerts can be programmed on the apps interface making parenting a little easier with reminders sent to you when you need to change your kid’s diaper or feed them. While probably not an everyday need – this is likely to be a boon on those hectic days when you don’t stop moving from one task to the next. An added benefit is that the smart sensors also provide odour alerts – which should help you to know when your baby needs a new diaper.

The Verdict

The iBaby Care M7 is a premium monitor with a premium price. It is the most feature rich monitor on the market to date.

While the features are great in their own right – the extra benefit of great development support for your child in conjunction with these features is a huge plus and should definitely play a role in your consideration of the product.
